Starship Enterprising  

Summary  

Starship Enterprising is a card game created for the Miami Design Jam 2023. In this Cards Against Humanity style game, set up your shop where you then will be forced to draw and build up new business practices! Then flip the card and roll to determine the twist! Afterwards, create your pitch as to why your business most effectively solved the issue at hand. The players all give their pitches and vote for which other player gave the best answer!

What I Did

For this project, I worked in a small group where I was one of the game writers who wrote most of the cards. Alongside that, I helped use the template that the artist made, (with my help) and inputted in all of the cards in their respective slot. I also, wrote the rules to the game and helped present it after the jam was over.

What I Learned

This project taught me quite a bit about making family games. I learned how to make a hook that would make the game feel very unique while keeping elements from games so that the players would not be so uncomfortable if they were not gamers. This limitation in rules made me note how important the presentation was and how well written the cards were. It was also a lot of fun and intriguing to think up a lot of unique situations that are realistic enough to be relatable but pushed to the Sci-Fi extreme to make them also comedic.
