M.O.M. (Make-Out Monsters)
Summary
I was tasked with making a board game about picking up monsters at the club. I figured that a deck builder could be an intresting method to convey the actions done in a club to pick up monsters.
What I Did
For this game, I mainly worked on the mechanics, narrative, and balancing. Working on the flavor text was a lot of fun and really added to the characterization of all of the cards which made the game feel full. We also switched central mechanics around a lot which caused quite a few intresting itterations leading up to our final product.
What I Learned
This game is easily the closest game I have worked on to being sellable on Kickstarter. I learned a lot about working with people who are not often in the board game world and figuring out ways to make the game more approachable for a wider audience.
