Goken Remake
Summary
Goken is a souls-like rpg that has the main character explore the semi open world on a quest to gather his 5 weapons and to get revenge on a god who wronged him. Along the way, he has to fight many of the god's allies and help the citizens of the world, while getting tattoed of course!
What I Did
Most of what I did is under NDA, but a basic summary is that I worked on storyboarding, mechanic design, UI/UX, character redesigns, marketing, and balancing.
What I Learned
Working on this game honestly meant so much to me. I was given the freedom to change a lot of elements of the game and direct a team. I even got the funding approved to progress the remake! I learned a lot about the marketing side of game development and the tideous task of pitching game concepts/changes to higher ups. I learned how to organize my information better to explain to others what their tasks were alongside the changes that were needed. I also learned loads about restoryboarding an entire game and had some experience making graphic design for a published game!
